【 Weak current College 】 optical fiber transceiver faults can exclude



(A), first look media converter or led light modules and twisted-pair port led is lit?

A, if transceiver optical parallel (FX) led does not light, please determine whether cross-linked fiber link? fiber jumpers a parallel connection; the other side is the cross-connection.

B, such as A transceiver optical parallel (FX) light, B transceiver optical parallel (FX) led is not lit, the failure is A transceiver-end: one possibility is: A transceiver (TX) light send port is bad, because B transceiver optical parallel (RX) not receive light signals; another possibility is: A transceiver (TX) light send port of the optical link problem (cable or may the ray jumper is broken).

C, twisted pair (TP) led is off, make sure the twisted-pair wiring for incorrect or wrong connection? please use the on/off Tester (However some twisted-pair transceivers, and other optical link led to power up after the lights).

D, a transceiver has two RJ45 ports: (ToHUB) indicates that the connection switch connector is express lines; (ToNode) indicates that the connector is connected to a switch of intersection.

E, the sender's side have the MPR switch: indicates that the connector is connected to switch the straight line method; DTE switch: connect-switch connector is a crossover cable.

(Ii), cable, optical fiber jumps the line is broken?

A, cable-off detection: laser flashlight, sunlight, Luminescent body on a fiber optic cable or coupling of an illumination; at the other end into the visible light? if not visible the optical cable.

B, fiber optic line-off detection: laser flashlight, solar, and so on to the jumper a fiber optic illumination; at the other end into the visible light? if visible light indicates that no fiber jumpers.

(Iii), half/full duplex mode is incorrect?

A transceiver side with FDX full duplex switch: switch: HDX; half-duplex.

(4), with optical power meter and meter testing

Optical Fiber Transceiver or module in the normal case of light-emitting power: 10db--18db multimode:-; SM 20 km between:-8db--15db 60 km between; SM:-between; if 5db--12db fiber transceivers and luminous power £-30db--45db, between the transceiver can be judged.
